Our new activity: plasma cutting

As previously reported we have reported on our websites, 400 m2-We have added a new factory hall on our site. And from this year, we have new technologies at our disposal: following successful tendering and procurement procedures, we have added an automatic grit spreader and a modern plasma cutting machine to our machinery.

On the occasion of the Eco Cranes Ltd. services a with contract cutting have been expanded, it is worth briefly reviewing what plasma cutting is.

The plasma

Plasma is already known from physics and chemistry fourth set stateot.

It can be achieved by applying extremely high heat - up to several 10,000°C - or by creating an electric field when the heat or electric field gases become ionised, i.e. one or more electrons are stripped from their atoms.

Plasma is an electrically conductive mixture of ions and free electrons.

Plasma cutting technology

Plasma cutting is a thermal cutting process in which the between the material to be machined and the electrode of the plasma cutter form an electric arc, melting the material in the full thickness of the cutting gap, and the resulting slurry is blown out by a high velocity and high temperature gas jet (compressed air, argon-hydrogen mixture, nitrogen, sometimes methane, depending on the material to be processed and the plasma cutting machine).

A plasma arc has a temperature of over 10,000°C and a speed approaching the speed of sound.

When using plasma cutting no chemical reactions, there is no heat generation process, as the material to be cut does not burn in oxygen as in flame cutting, so plasma cutting is perfectly suitable for a wide range of materials.
