Today, companies are constantly looking for technologies and developments that will allow them to reduce their environmental footprint and operate in a more sustainable way. In today's post, we take a look at what the lifting industry can offer to meet this need.

When a company tries to operate in a more sustainable way, it tries to develop and apply environmentally conscious technologies in areas such as waste management, energy efficiency, reducing carbon emissions or recycling the raw materials used in its operations.

The question arises as to whether the energy-intensive Flooring segment what solutions can you come up with to help companies improve their energy efficiency?

Double aim in lifting technology

It should be borne in mind that in an industrial environment, companies have a dual purpose when it comes to energy efficiency improvements.

In addition to the efficient use of energy I would like to reduce their impact on the environment, comply with related regulations and, in some cases, achieve cost savings, this they want to achieve by maintaining productivity.

It may sound surprising at first, but the installation and use of bridge cranes or portal cranes can be an effective way to achieve these goals.

Engine oil and battery

The installation of such a system can replace the equipment that moves loads on the floor, whether petroleum-based or battery-powered.

A replacing combustion engine vehicles will eliminate carbon dioxide emissions and the continuous ventilation of the work area for this reason, as well as reducing the chances of oil and other fluids leaking and contaminating the work area.

And by replacing battery-powered lifting devices eliminates extra tasks such as continuous battery charging and replacement, and the handling and recycling of used batteries.

Higher

The use of bridge cranes is not the only way to reduce the amount of lifting equipment used.

An important factor is that in the vast majority of cases, these systems provide a higher lifting height and consequently a higher loading height.

With this allow maximum use of the cubic metres available in the operational area.

In an industrial space with optimal space utilisation, the energy requirements for temperature control and lighting can be reduced, and a major expense for a possible expansion can be saved.

What are the technologies, tools and solutions, that enable state-of-the-art bridge crane systems to operate with outstanding energy efficiency?

In our next post we will explore the topic in more detail.
