In our previous post, we looked at the benefits of using lifting equipment in warehouses and logistics centres. There are a number of different types of cranes that can be used successfully, today we look at the types of workflows where they should be used.

Lifting equipment

As we have shown earlier, the use of cranes can greatly increase the efficiency and speed of warehousing workflows, as well as improve safety and maximise space utilisation. Lifting equipment can be used in almost all warehouses thanks to its various designs and high degree of customisation. Let's see exactly what types are available!

Briddaru

Let's start with the big guns, with the bridge pieces, which can lift and transport loads of up to 80 tonnes. One of the most popular solutions, which can cover the entire area of a warehouse with low maintenance costs. It is also suitable for handling oversized loads at high lifting heights. The support columns and the support points are attached to the building, so the installation of these structures is preceded by the most design work.

Bakdaru

An easily customisable, low cost and practical mobile solution for bakdaru. It is easy to move around inside the warehouse, but can also be used outdoors. Ideal for loading and unloading or moving goods in small areas. It should be noted, however, that it rolls on wheels and therefore requires a properly designed floor for installation.

Spinning crane

Another an affordable price and easy to use type of rotary crane. The only drawback is the short boom range of the installed versions, but mobile versions are also available. Its angular rotation varies from 180˚ to 360° depending on the type (wall-mounted or with its own column).

Portal cops

They work in a very similar way to bridge cranes, but the supported by the ground level instead of the slab. It is faster and cheaper to install than a bridge. An portal cops an excellent choice for locations where it is not possible to install a bridge or where it is not necessary to cover the entire area of the building.

If there are separate work areas within the warehouse area where production or packaging itself takes place, it can also be an optimal solution to support these workflows.

Crane track systems

The tracked, suspended crane gantry system ideal for moving loads frequently along a fixed route. These long-distance transport systems are available in both manual and motorised versions.

Cost-effective can even be retrofitted thanks to their modular design. They also have a disadvantage: their lightweight construction means that they have a relatively low load capacity (125-2000 kg).

If you want to increase the efficiency and safety of your warehouse operations, the installation of one or more cranes may be a suitable upgrade.

With several different types to choose from, it's easy to find the right lift for your specific needs.
