A functionally well-designed and positioned lifting device is not only a successful tool in manufacturing workflows, but also an excellent choice for supporting work in warehouses or logistics centres. There are several types of cranes that can be used in warehousing, in today's post we look at their advantages and when to choose them.

Warehousing workflows

Modern lifting equipment is almost indispensable for warehousing workflows. An a properly selected, designed and installed crane can improve both efficiency and site safety.

It may also reduce the amount of human labour needed. Workers don't have to lift heavy loads to move between workstations, just prepare and supervise the transport.

This eliminates the burden, increases safety and makes work processes more efficient and faster.

Using the right lifting equipment maximum space utilisation is achieved. The stored products can be easily and quickly moved vertically and horizontally, bypassing objects at ground level and placed on shelves at higher levels. Cranes and hoists can be used to replace the need for a separate route forklifts also use.

Thanks to the many different types and designs of lifting equipment, can be integrated into almost any warehouse and can be used for a wide range of workflows

Whether it's loading and unloading semi-finished or finished products from vehicles, placing them on shelves, transporting raw materials to production units, a crane is always a good choice.

Lifting technology for warehouses

In warehouses or distribution centres, several types of lifting devices can be used, which in most cases can even be customised, but these installation of accurate design work must precede, to ensure that the most appropriate device is installed.

You need to assess the properties of the building to see what kind of crane can be installed on the work site. It is necessary to determine which work processes need the support of a lifting structure. However, what is the most important aspect: the type of goods to be lifted. Pallets want to lift, or some larger goods such as steel beams or containers filled with dangerous substances where additional special precautions are required? Once this has been determined, it is possible to calculate what lifting equipment will be needed, at what lifting height and on what route.

In our next post we present, which types of cranes are suitable for warehousing work.
