Híddaruk - Eco-Cranes

How do cranes used in factory halls get going and why can they operate safely for long periods? The key is professional commissioning and continuous, thorough safety inspections. Let's see the process.

The cranes installed on the site (whether they are bridge cranesportal cranes or goat) is also the life of the on the drawing board begins. The process begins with an accurate assessment of the customer's needs and the area to be installed. It continues with the design, using modern design software. This is followed by the manufacture of the necessary elements and components, and then the installation, when the structure comes to life.

Commissioning of lifting equipment in two phases

An the professional installation of the lifting equipment is carried out in two phases. First the factory commissioning which includes the delivery of previously manufactured parts to the site and the installation of the crane.

The hoist is subjected to a load test and a contact protection test, for which a report is drawn up. If these are successful, the second phase prior to handover, the commissioning for occupational safety and health

In all cases, this is done with the help of an independent, licensed occupational health and safety expert who carries out the necessary tests and prepares documentation in accordance with the regulations. Once the installed crane has met all the criteria and health and safety regulations, it is handed over to the client, together with the reports and documentation, who can then start operating the structure.

Continuous assessment

The long-term, safe and accident-free operation of lifting equipment requires regular inspection. This is the responsibility of the owner of the equipment and should be carried out at various intervals.

  • Shift-by-shift inspection: is the most frequently performed check. The professional operating the crane and consists of a visual inspection, the necessary cleaning work and an idle inspection.
  • Structural analysis: this check is now carried out by an administrator every 1-4 months. In addition to the visual inspection and idling test, this is use of measuring instruments is also necessary. It can help to quickly identify various malfunctions, structural wear and tear, and possibly damage that needs to be repaired.
  • Main investigation: also to be carried out by a lifting machine operator at intervals of 0.5 and 3 years. Compared to the previous
a much more comprehensive overhaul is needed. In addition to the visual inspection and the idling test lifting structures must be subjected to load and static checks. The main inspection shall also include a check that the crane is being operated correctly, that the data in the documentation of the equipment correspond to the actual technical characteristics of the crane and that the safety of the crane and its environment is being verified.
  • Periodic review: every 5 years, unless there is a change in the environment of the lifting equipment. The expert will check the documentation, the structural, mechanical and safety installations of the equipment, which must comply with the regulations in force at the time of putting into service. He also assesses whether the function of the crane and characteristics of its environment are still in line with those defined at the design stage. Document the results of the inspection in a report, and if necessary, propose upgrading the crane.

We can help!

As mentioned above, regular inspections are the responsibility of the owner of the lifting equipment, but this can be greatly facilitated by our specialists, who will carry out the mandatory inspections at a pre-arranged time. If you would like a timely and professional inspection of the cranes operated by your company, feel free to contact us at Contact.
