A vízszintes mozgás jelzései – hidraulikus ollosemelo 01

Not so long ago, we dedicated a separate post to the proper installation and operation of lifting equipment, with a special focus on the intervals at which regular inspections and maintenance work should be carried out. In today's post we look at the benefits of owners carrying out these tasks accurately and thoroughly.

Maintenance of a lifting machine is not just about replacing or repairing a faulty part in the event of a breakdown. Regular checks of the safety functions and continuous cleaning of the structure are also part of this workflow.

Frequency of maintenance

As we have already presented at, for lifting machinery, an inspection every shift, a structural inspection every 1 to 4 months, a main inspection every 0.5 to 3 years and a periodic inspection. However, the timing of these is not set in stone and may vary depending on the type, manufacturer or conditions of use.

When scheduling maintenance work, it is always worth paying attention to:

  • Recommended by the manufacturer review cycles.
  • The structure carried by the tasks and working environment. If a hoist is used outdoors, the exposed to adverse weather conditions or for prolonged periods in low temperature environments (e.g. in cold storage), more frequent service cycles may be justified.
  • A operators can also get useful information from the service manual. If some parts have already failed several times, it is worth checking them more often or even out of sequence.

The benefits of maintenance

There are many benefits to regular maintenance and thus preventing breakdowns or carrying out necessary repairs in a timely manner.

  • Of course, the priority is work area safety. Considering how dangerous a faulty hoist can be for operators, bystanders and can cause damage to the load being lifted and the working environment, proper maintenance of lifting equipment is paramount to maximise the safety of work processes.
  • One that is not working properly, a constantly failing structure can have a serious impact on productivity. Regular servicing can significantly reduce the time your device is out of service.
  • A regular maintenance can reduce financial expenditure on assets. If problems are identified and fixed early, it can cost significantly less than a major repair. The condition of the lifts deteriorates more slowly and their lifespan increases, which not only means they can be used for longer, but they can also be sold at a higher price when resold.

However, even with regular inspections and maintenance, lifting equipment can easily fail. In such cases, you can turn to our qualified and experienced service team, who will be on site at short notice and make the necessary repairs.
