IV - Machining<\/h2>\n

As reported by <\/strong>Previous<\/strong><\/a> in our articles<\/strong><\/a> the industry uses the water for a myriad of purposes. <\/strong>ac\u00e9lt<\/strong><\/a>. In line with these uses, during the steel production process, the steel as a final product takes different shapes, which are further shaped to obtain their final form. In the final part of this series, we will discuss this stage of the process, the machining of steel. <\/strong><\/p>\n

A Machining of plain or alloy steel<\/strong><\/em>, can be plasticised both hot and cold. In hot working, the properties of the steel can be further modified by heat treatment. Forging, rolling and extrusion are among the best known and most common forms of machining.<\/p>\n

Forging<\/h5>\n

The oldest, longest-used metal deposition methods<\/strong><\/em> one. In forging, steel or other metals are usually shaped between the forming surfaces of two tools, using blows or pressure.<\/p>\n

In forging, the metal can be formed hot, cold or semi-hot.<\/p>\n

The forging of the fthe original material structure of the edges<\/strong><\/em> finer, so that the mechanical properties of the machined metal can be tailored to the intended stress. <\/pre>\n
Quality of forged metals after shaping by heat treatment<\/strong> <\/em>can be further improved.<\/p>\n
Hand forging<\/strong><\/em> can be used to create ornate and unique metal objects, but it is a time-consuming process.<\/p>\n
Machine forging<\/strong><\/em> is faster and more efficient, although cutting costs can be high when machining smaller quantities of material.<\/p>\n

Rolling<\/h5>\n
A much later method than forging, but capable of machining significantly larger quantities of metal, which for forming steel bars and plates<\/strong> <\/em>perfectly suitable.<\/p>\n
In addition to its efficiency, the rolled products have the added advantage of a wide range of shapes and sizes<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n
During rolling, the metal is shaped by rotating rolls on a rolling stand. A unit consisting of one or more rolling stands installed to roll a given product is called the\u00a0cylinders<\/strong><\/em>. The rolling mill is the collective name for the rolling line and the related departments carrying out the preparatory and auxiliary operations (heating, cooling, heat treatment of the metal).<\/pre>\n
The vast majority of products machined by rolling intermediate nature<\/strong><\/em>, these are further developed using other technologies. Only a small part of them, such as rebars, is directly support sections<\/a>, or they use the railway tracks.<\/p>\n
